Best-selling sports author, columnist and media-contributor John Feinstein is the latest celebrity to launch his own personal blog, playing on the title of his smash success book "A Season on the Brink'. The blog FEINSTEIN ON THE BRINK (www.feinsteinonthebrink.com) launched a 'soft-opening' last week and in his first post the prolific scribe noted "The one thing I thought I'd never write is 'welcome to my blog'" but he did so in that inaugural effort. Feinstein will post each weekday, offering his unfiltered views and commentary on breaking news, hot topics, as well as personal stories inside the world of sports.

Feinstein has authored twenty-four books in his illustrious career with his latest release 'Are You Kidding Me?', written with Rocco Mediate.  In that book John chronicles Rocco's epic battle with Tiger Woods at the 2008 US Open.  In his first blog entry Feinstein comments on the release of this book by saying "The title is called 'Are you Kidding Me', which is Rocco's description with one word missing (rhymes with ducking) on the events of that week." Also in his first entry, Feinstein outlined that he hopes to post daily and to simply write what is on his mind that day; whether it be sports, politics or social commentary.

FEINSTEIN ON THE BRINK launched on June 17th with Feinstein posting from the site of the 109th US Open where he was on assignment.  In his early posts, Feinstein has covered topics ranging from the US Open, college basketball, awkward moments in life and behind the scenes observations of the athletes, coaches and personalities he covers.  His frequent blogging will continue to give readers an insight into his daily musings and in an upcoming feature of the site, readers will also be able to link to purchase any of John's twenty-four titles.  Also included is a section to book him for speeches and book-signings as well as a place for reader comments. The charitable work in which Feinstein also engages, including "The Bruce Edwards Foundation", where he is Chairman of the Board, is highlighted in the site.

The author of FEINSTEIN ON THE BRINK has written the two best-selling non-fiction sports books in history with 1995's "A Good Walk Spoiled" with the second being the inspiration for the blog's title "A Season on the Brink" about the enigmatic Bob Knight's Hoosiers basketball team.  He has also completed four children's books, including an Edgar Allen Poe Award winning "The Last Shot' and the next one to be released in August 2009, "Change-Up'.  Feinstein is a 1977 graduate of Duke University and spent the first eleven years of his career with The Washington Post. He has also contributed to Sports Illustrated, The National Sports Daily, ESPN, CBS Sports and Golf Digest.  Presently he appears on-air with The Golf Channel and National Public Radio and writes for The Washington Post, Golf Digest and The Sporting News.  He resides in Potomac, Maryland and Shelter Island, New York.
