Fort Worth – June 1, 2010 – Former eGolf Tour players John Mallinger, Kris Blanks and Jason Bohn led the way at the PGA TOUR's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial over the weekend, recording matching T13 finishes at historic Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, TX.
Mallinger, whose best finish on the eGolf Tour came in a runner-up loss to Tommy Gainey at the 2006 River Run Classic, posted rounds of 65-66-69-68—268 to collect the first top-25 finish of his 2010 season in only his second cut made. The former Long Beach State standout earned more than $1.2 million in 2007, 2008 and 2009 each, but has only two made cuts in 15 starts under his belt this year.
For Blanks, opening rounds of 65-64 put him in position to possibly notch the first title of his PGA TOUR career, but weekend rounds of 68-71 in otherwise flawless scoring conditions dropped him from the top five down to T13 on the week. Blanks is in the midst of his best season on TOUR, with two top-5 finishes already to his credit and over $800,000 in earnings. The former Huntingdon College golfer is currently 58th on the FedExCup points list.
Bohn, who played the eGolf Tour in 2003, jumped into contention early at Colonial with a first-round 63 and a share of the lead on Thursday, and would add rounds of 65-68-72 to pick up his fifth top-20 finish of an impressive 2010 season.
With his second PGA TOUR title coming at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April, Bohn has already surpassed prior bests in single-season earnings by a staggering $500,000. His 2010 earnings of $1,667,255 have placed him at No. 16 on the TOUR's money list, while his total of 810 points has him 18th on the FedExCup points list.
Other eGolf Tour players to make the cut in Fort Worth include Blake Adams (T27), Tom Gillis (T38), Derek Lamely (T44), Aron Price (T50), Jerod Turner (T59), James Nitties (T59) and Brendon de Jonge (T59).
