Charlotte, NC – November 3, 2010 – The 2010 Nationwide Tour season came to a close last week, and with it came 25 PGA TOUR cards for a well-deserving group of players who fought, scratched and clawed their way onto golf’s biggest stage in 2011. As with every year, the top 25 players on the Nationwide Tour’s season-ending money list are awarded their TOUR cards for the following year, and the eGolf Professional Tour was well represented with 11 players punching their tickets to compete against the game’s best.

The following players (preceded by their money list standing) earned their PGA TOUR cards for 2011:

1. Jamie Lovemark

Former NCAA Champion earned $452,951 on the 2010 Nationwide Tour with six top-3 finishes, including his first career win at the Mexico Open Bicentenary in June.  Lovemark competed on the eGolf Professional Tour in 2009 after a standout career at the University of Southern California. By winning the money list, Lovemark will automatically earn a spot in the Players Championship.

2. Chris Kirk

The 2007 Ben Hogan Award winner at the University of Georgia finally made good on his vast potential with two wins and $411,206 in 2010, and in turn a second-place finish on the Nationwide Tour’s season-ending money list. Kirk spent the vast majority of 2009 on the eGolf Professional Tour, with his best finish being a playoff loss to PGA TOUR player Tom Gillis at the Pine Needles Classic.

4. Tommy Gainey

Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey will be making a return trip to the PGA TOUR after failing to retain his card in his rookie season of 2008. The Bishopville, SC native notched two wins and $403,957 in 2010 and finished fourth on the tour’s season-ending money list. Gainey played the eGolf Professional Tour full time from 2005 through 2007, a stretch during which he collected four wins and finished second on the 2006 money list. Gainey’s first stint on the PGA TOUR nearly ended in dramatic fashion when he closed his season with a runner-up loss to Davis Love III at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic at Walt Disney World.

5. Daniel Summerhays

Summerhays competed on the 2010 eGolf Professional Tour while balancing conditional status on the Nationwide Tour, and notched a T6 finish in the tour’s Cowans Ford Open in May – just one week after posting a runner-up finish at the Nationwide Tour’s Stadion Classic at UGA. That runner-up would vastly improve Summerhays’ status, and would lead to a standout season in which he collected three total runner-up finishes. Summerhays earned $391,742 on the Nationwide Tour, in turn becoming the highest ranked player on the money list without a win this year. Summerhays will be making his first career trip to the PGA TOUR in 2011.

9. Kevin Chappell

Chappell, the 2008 NCAA Individual champion, parlayed his first full season on the Nationwide Tour into a 2011 PGA TOUR card via a win at the Fresh Express Classic in April and $326,507 in single-season earnings. The former UCLA Bruin star competed on the eGolf Professional Tour in 2008 and 2009, with his best finish coming at the 2009 Bolle Classic in Lexington, NC – a T11.

11. Kevin Kisner

Kisner is arguably the most experienced eGolf Professional Tour player of the 11 who secured their PGA TOUR cards on the Nationwide Tour. A former University of Georgia “All American,” Kisner earned his first career Nationwide Tour title at the Mylan Classic in September after rounds of 68-68-68-67—271 netted the Aiken, SC native a winner’s share of $108,000. Kisner would add a T2 finish at the Miccosukee Championship in October to help solidify his spot inside the top 15. Kisner played the eGolf Tour full time as a member from 2006 through 2009 before earning his Nationwide Tour card. During his tenure on the eGolf Tour, he notched wins at the 2007 Match Play Championship and the 2008 Bermuda Run Open. In 2008, he finished third on the season-ending money list with an impressive seven top-6 finishes in just 14 starts. Kisner will make his first career PGA TOUR start at the 2011 Sony Open in Hawaii.

12. Fabian Gomez

In May of 2009, Argentina’s Fabian Gomez finished runner-up in the Nationwide Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am, and kept his commitment to compete in the eGolf Tour’s Bolle Classic the following week. A T3 finish at that Bolle Classic more than kept his momentum going, and he has not looked back since. Gomez parlayed that runner-up effort into full status on the 2009 Nationwide Tour, and proceeded to come out swinging in 2010 with a win at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open in March. That win would be the second of five top-10 finishes on the season for Gomez – a year in which he accumulated $265,390 in earnings and finished 12^th on the tour’s money list.

13. David Mathis

Mathis, a multiple winner on the eGolf Professional Tour, will be making his second trip to the PGA TOUR in 2011 after pocketing $265,385 en route to a 13^th-place finish on the 2010 Nationwide Tour money list. The former Campbell University golfer won the tour’s Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open in October to vault from outside the top 30 to inside the magic number. The win was his first on the Nationwide Tour since capturing the 2008 BMW Charity Pro-Am in Greenville, SC. Mathis played the eGolf Tour full time from 2003 through 2007, with his last win coming at the River Run Classic in April of 2007.

14. Keegan Bradley

Bradley burst through PGA TOUR Q-School onto the Nationwide Tour in 2010 and made the most of his opportunity with a runner-up finish at the Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic and arguably some of the best play of his life at a time when it mattered most. The former St. John’s golfer pulled off a quartet of top-5 finishes in the fall with a T3, T3, T5, T4 stretch beginning with the Albertson’s Boise Open and ending with the Miccosukee Championship. His late-season heroics produced over $133,000 of his season-ending $264,760 in earnings and moved Bradley inside the top 15 to a final standing of 14^th on the money list.

22. Joe Affrunti

After a 2009 season in which he posted only one top-25 finish on the Nationwide Tour, former eGolf Tour player Joe Affrunti made a statement in 2010 with eight top-25 finishes, including two runner-ups. It can be argued that Affrunti’s best finish of the 2010 season came at the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship, where rounds of 66-71-72-70—279 gave the former University of Illinois golfer a solo third place finish and enough money to move from No. 34 to No. 22 on the tour’s money list, thus cementing his spot on the 2011 PGA TOUR.

25. Justin Hicks

After sharing the first-round lead at the 2008 U.S. Open and picking up his first Nationwide Tour title the very next month, the sky seemed to be the limit for Hicks – a former University of Michigan golfer with two career eGolf Tour titles. He would go on to spend the remainder of 2008 and all of 2009 on the Nationwide Tour, but would really pick up the pace in 2010 with his second career win at the BMW Charity Pro-Am in May. An up-and-down stretch through the summer brought Hicks to the last few months of the year, and he responded with eight consecutive made cuts to finish the year – including two T11 finishes – to move into the No. 25 spot with $209,259 in earnings.
