Charlotte, NC – November 19, 2010 – The second stage of the PGA TOUR’s Qualifying Tournament is underway at six sites across the country this week. As always, the eGolf Professional Tour is well represented at each site, with a multitude of players using their experiences on the tour to help guide them through the roller coaster known simply as “Q-School.” We will be posting daily results and summaries from each site throughout the entire process as dreams are achieved on one of golf’s cruelest stages. HUMBLE, TX

 

Former Nationwide Tour player and longtime eGolf Tour member Scott Weatherly of Fort Payne, AL posted a third-round 68 in Humble, TX to move into solo third place through 54 holes at the Redstone Golf Club site. Weatherly, who won the eGolf Tour’s Grand Harbor Open this past May, stands at 9-under 207 through three rounds, trailing co-leaders James Driscoll and Sunghoon Kang by just one shot. Two-time eGolf Tour winner Andy Bare of West End, NC is tied for fifth at 4-under 212. Bare, who has spent nearly his entire professional career on the eGolf Professional Tour, is in position to make it to Q-School finals for the first time after a standout college career at UNC Greensboro. A total of 10 past and present eGolf Tour players are inside the number with 18 holes to play in Humble.

At Southern Hills Plantation Club, 2009 eGolf Tour leading money winner Scott Brown of North Augusta, SC backed up his first-round 65 with a second-round 68 on Thursday to take a two-shot lead over fellow eGolf Tour alums Scott Stallings and Ben Martin at the event’s halfway point. Brown, who set single-season earnings records that year when he eclipsed the $140,000 mark, spent the 2010 season on the Nationwide Tour – where he recorded three top-10 finishes and finished No. 70 on the money list. Stallings, a former Tennessee Tech golfer and 2009 eGolf Tour member, spent all of 2010 on the Nationwide Tour, making 19 of 28 cuts and finishing 53^rd on the money list with $127,606 in earnings. Fully exempt for the 2011 Nationwide Tour season, Stallings is at Q-School in hopes of earning his PGA TOUR card instead for the upcoming year. Martin, a runner-up in the 2009 U.S. Amateur, is having great success in his first go around at PGA TOUR Q-School with rounds of 66-69—135. The prodigious former Clemson University standout notched his first career professional win in just his second start when he defeated Brett Munson on the second playoff hole to capture the tour’s Forest Oaks Classic in July. A total of 12 eGolf Tour players sit inside the number through 18 holes at Southern Hills.

PANAMA CITY, FL

 

Darron Stiles of Pinehurst, NC, fresh off a hole-in-one during an opening-round 70, recorded a second-round 66 at Hombre Golf Club to vault into solo second through 36 holes of the Panama City, FL site. Stiles, who has spent the majority of his career between the PGA and Nationwide Tours, trails Seong Ho Lee by one shot with two rounds left to play. Longtime eGolf Professional Tour player Brent Delahoussaye of Greer, SC bounced back nicely after a first-round 73 to post a second-round 66 and move into a tie for eighth. The former Clemson University golfer spent 2010 on the PGA TOUR, but was forced back to Q-School after finishing outside the top 200 on the money list. Geoffrey Sisk (T12) and Chris Baker (T12) round out the tour’s representation inside the top 15 at 1-under 141 for the event. Baker, arguably one of the eGolf Tour’s top players, took a more conventional route to his round of 70 with three birdies, 13 pars and two bogeys. The former Iowa State star won the eGolf Tour’s River Hills Classic in April of this year to collect the largest paycheck of his professional career. That win would spur even better play as he was one of 10 eGolf Tour players to earn an exemption into the Challenge Tour’s Moroccan Golf Classic, where rounds of 69-66-72-68—275 gave him the victory and allowed him to become the first American-born player to win on the Challenge Tour since Kevin Stadler in December of 2005.

MURRIETA, CA

 

Jason Kokrak, the eGolf Tour’s leading money winner in 2010, continued his strong play at Bear Creek Golf Club with a second-round 72 and a 36-hole total of 5-under 139 to fall a few spots back into a tie for sixth. Kokrak, who won twice this season en route to collecting eight top-10 finishes on the eGolf Tour, competed in three Nationwide Tour events this season, with his best finish coming at the South Georgia Classic in April – a T13. Daniel Woltman, Cameron Tringale and Matt McQuillan are the other three eGolf Tour palyers inside the top 15 at the halfway point. All three players are tied at 3-under 141 and in a tie for 12^th. Tringale, a former Walker Cup player and Georgia Tech “All American,” played the PGA TOUR full time in 2010 and is back at Q-School this fall in hopes of regaining his status. A total of six eGolf Tour players are inside the number through 18 holes of play in Murrieta, CA.

McKINNEY, TX

 

Former PGA TOUR player David Lutterus of Australia posted a second-round 64 to move into the outright lead in McKinney, TX with a 36-hole total of 12-under 132. Lutterus, who won the 2009 Bolle Classic on the eGolf Tour, played his way onto the PGA TOUR in 2008 and 2010, but is back at Q-School this fall in hopes of reclaiming his TOUR status. In solo second is 2010 eGolf Tour member Fielding Brewbaker of Salem, VA. Brewbaker, a former James Madison University golfer, was the first-round leader at TPC Craig Ranch following a round of 6-under 66. On Thursday, Brewbaker backed up his stellar start with a 3-under 69 to move to 9-under for the event, trailing Lutterus by three shots. A total of nine eGolf Tour players are inside the number at the halfway point, highlighted by past champions Lutterus, Tommy Biershenk and Elliot Gealy.

SEASIDE, CA

 

Former eGolf Tour player Andres Gonzales of Olympia, WA backed up his opening-round 62 at the Bayonet Course with a second-round 73 to fall into a tie for third at the halfway point of the Seaside, CA site. Gonzales, who eagled the final hole of his opening round to post his 10-under 62, picked up where he left off with an outward nine of 3-under 33 to move to 13-under for the event. Unfortunately, his closing nine would not be as kind with four bogeys and a double-bogey en route to a 4-over 40. Regardless, Gonzales’ 9-under 135 total has him three shots behind 36-hole leader Kent Jones of Albuquerque, NM. Matt Davidson, a two-time eGolf Tour Championship winner (2008-2009), posted a second-round 69 to move to 4-under for the event and inside the number in a tie for 16^th. A total of four eGolf Tour players are inside the number through the halfway point in Seaside.
