La Jolla, CA – January 31, 2011 – Two-time eGolf Professional Tour champion Tom Gillis of Oxford, MI notched his first top-25 of the 2011 PGA TOUR season over the weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open, posting a T17 finish just outside of San Diego to pace all eGolf Tour players.

Gillis, who won the Pine Needles Classic and the Savannah Quarters Championship on the eGolf Tour in 2009, entered the 2011 PGA TOUR season coming off his most successful year as a professional – having amassed career-best earnings of $1,166,146 and eight top-25 finishes on TOUR in 2010 alone. A missed cut in his first start of the season at the Sony Open in Hawaii left much to be desired for Gillis, but his year would take a turn for the better at Torrey Pines with rounds of 72-70-69-71—282 and a T17 finish.

On Saturday, Gillis was one of eight players in the field to break 70 when he posted a 3-under 69 on the South Course to move into a tie for 17^th after making the cut by just two shots. Sunday’s final round provided much promise when Gillis birdied the arduous opening par-4 first, but bogeys on Nos. 7, 11 and 12 would drop the Michigan native back to 2-over and outside the top 20. A birdie at 13 would bring him back to 1-over on his round, and a dramatic closing eagle at the iconic par-5 18^th would leave him with a final-round 71 and his 17^th career top-25 PGA TOUR finish.

Ben Martin and Keegan Bradley rounded out the eGolf Tour’s representation in the top 25 at Torrey Pines with 72-hole totals of 4-under 284 and matching T25 finishes.

Martin, who won the eGolf Tour’s Forest Oaks Classic last July in just his second start as a professional, earned his PGA TOUR card via a T2 finish at Q-School in December, and has now made two of three cuts in his rookie season.

A T57 (MDF) finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii was Martin’s other made cut on the season, and that would be followed by a missed cut at the Bob Hope Classic. For Martin, 20 birdies and two eagles on the week at Torrey Pines would usually signify a player in contention, but his downfall at the Farmers Insurance Open was the plethora of bogeys –  he would card 16 bogeys and two double-bogeys over a four-day period in La Jolla.

Bradley, coming off a T7 finish at the prior week’s Bob Hope Classic, opened his week with a 5-under 67 on the easier North Course at Torrey Pines, but would back it up with rounds of 74-70-73 to fall out of the top 10. His saving grace was a stellar birdie-birdie-birdie finish on Nos. 16-18 on Sunday afternoon to creep back inside the top 25. The $46,255 payday moved Bradley up to No. 28 on the 2011 money list with season earnings of $207,275.

Other eGolf Tour players to make the cut in La Jolla include Blake Adams (T29), Chris Kirk (T44), David Mathis (T51), Jamie Lovemark (T58), Josh Teater (T63), Michael Thompson (T65), Fabian Gomez (T65) and Cameron Tringale (T73).
