Charlotte, NC – The eGolf Professional Tour announced today the formation of a Million Dollar Championship Series for the 2013-2014 season, which will bring together the existing eGolf Tour, as well as the recently announced eGolf Pro Tour West and eGolf Pro Tour Florida series for a four-tournament, season-ending series that will feature the four largest purses in developmental tour golf.

With eGolf Pro Tour West and eGolf Pro Tour Florida set to launch in September and October, respectively, eGolf will be rolling out 49 professional tournaments over the next 12 months, all culminating with the season-ending Million Dollar Championship Series, scheduled to take place in August and September of 2014.

The four-tournament series will feature guaranteed purses of $225,000, $225,000, $250,000 and $300,000, with the winner of the fourth and final championship series event receiving a $50,000 first-place prize. The Million Dollar Championship Series will be highlighted by two events in the Southeast and two events on the West Coast at sites to be announced in the coming months.

The 156-player fields for each Million Dollar Championship Series event will be comprised of the top 50 members from the 15-tournament eGolf Tour, the top 30 members from the eGolf Pro Tour West, and the top 30 members from eGolf Pro Tour Florida.

The remaining 36 spots in each event will be filled by top players from international tours around the world, in an effort to create a truly worldwide Million Dollar Championship Series.

“We have had an eye on establishing a nationwide footprint for quite some time, and the formation of both eGolf Pro Tour West and eGolf Pro Tour Florida has allowed us to cement the foundation from which to announce a championship series of this magnitude,” said eGolf CEO Wes Jones. “Players from across the United States and around the world will have the opportunity to play for their share of $1 million dollars over four weeks. We are honored to present that opportunity.”

In order to qualify for the Million Dollar Championship Series, members must play a minimum number of events on their respective tour. Participation requirements for each tour are listed below:

eGolf Tour:                     Minimum 7 of 15 events

eGolf West:                    Minimum 5 of 11 events

eGolf Florida:                 Minimum 6 of 14 events

Any player who participates in a PGA TOUR, Web.com Tour or European Tour event, opposite an eGolf-sanctioned event, will have that start count towards his minimum.

"We are excited to offer this opportunity for our players,” said eGolf Tour president David Siegel. “Not only will we be able to use this Championship Series to bring together the top developmental tour players from around the world, but it also means that all of our players across the country will have the opportunity to compete for more than 100% of their money regardless of which series they choose to play."

For the fifth consecutive year, the 2014 eGolf Tour season will open with the Palmetto Hall Championship presented by Westin Hilton Head Island, set to be contested at Palmetto Hall Plantation Club on Hilton Head Island, SC on February 26-March 1, 2014.

The eGolf Pro Tour West season will kick off with the inaugural Championship at Southern Dunes, to be contested at annual PGA TOUR Q-School site Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, AZ on September 24-26, 2013. The following week, the tour will remain in the greater Phoenix area for the Raven Golf Club Classic, to be played at the award-winning Raven Golf Club at Verrado in Buckeye, AZ on October 1-3, 2013.

The eGolf Pro Tour Florida’s 14-tournament season will start with the Lee Westwood Golf School Open on October 28-31, 2013, to be contested at Errol Estate Golf & Country Club in Apopka, FL. The following week, the tour will head to Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando, FL for the Metro West Classic on November 4-6, 2013.
