Charlotte, NC – In August of 2013, eGolf announced the formation of a season-ending, Million Dollar Championship Series, set to put forth the top players in developmental tour golf to compete for a sum total of $1 million dollars in prize money over a four-tournament series. Today, the company announced the second of the four tournament sites, with Island View Casino Resort in Gulfport, MS being named as host of the $225,000 Island View Casino Championship, to be contested on September 9-12, 2014.

eGolf’s inaugural Million Dollar Championship Series will feature guaranteed purses of $225,000, $225,000, $250,000 and $300,000, with the winner of the fourth and final championship series event receiving a $50,000 first-place prize. The four-event series will feature tournaments on both the east and west coasts, with the remaining three sites and dates to be announced shortly.

The 156-player fields for each Million Dollar Championship Series event will be comprised of the top 50 members from the Charlotte, NC-based eGolf Tour, the top 30 members from eGolf Tour West, and the top 30 members from eGolf Tour Florida.

The remaining 46 spots in each event will be filled by top players from tours around the world, as well as a Monday qualifier, in an effort to create a truly worldwide series.

Island View Casino Resort is a 565-room oceanfront property located in the heart of historic Gulfport. The Island View Casino Championship will be contested at Windance Golf and Country Club, a Mark McCumber-designed course located approximately 20 minutes from the resort.

Windance offers 18 championship holes set in spectacular rolling terrain, delivering an exceptional golfing experience in an extraordinary setting. Windance hosted the Web.com Tour’s Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic from 1990 through 1995, producing winners such as 2003 U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk, as well as current Champions Tour stars Tom Lehman and Allen Doyle.
