Jaacob Bowden Named Official Swing Speed Trainer of the eGolf Tour
By Stewart Moore
Charlotte, NC – The eGolf Professional Tour announced today that Jaacob Bowden of Swing Man Golf has signed on as the Official Swing Speed Trainer of the tour, effective for the remainder of the 2013 season and the duration of the 2014 season.
Bowden, a former Pinnacle Distance Challenge champion and RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships contestant, has established a process and method that has allowed touring professionals and top amateurs alike to increase their respective swing speeds, while still maintaining the fundamentals and swing principals that allowed them to ascend to the game’s higher levels.
“The main niche of Swing Man Golf and what I do is swing speed training. Speed generation is important because for every 1 mph of additional swing speed you get 2.5 yards more distance, so the main benefit that could be provided is more distance,” said Bowden. “With the application of the right knowledge, it's actually fairly easy to add 12-16 mph in about 30 days, meaning tour players that are on the slow end at 104-110 can actually get to a point where they are no longer at a power disadvantage, in turn, average guys in the 113 range can become power players.”
At its core, Swing Man Golf involves some physical work to get player's more swing speed. There's no swing changes involved, and while Bowden does conduct regular coaching, Swing Man Golf is designed to complement whatever swing work players are working on with existing coaches. The process trains the body to be able to move faster with the same or even better level of control.

“We are excited to have Jaacob on board with our tour,” said eGolf Tour president David Siegel. “With the direction the professional game is heading in, now more than ever, distance is a vital part to most any player’s success. The opportunity to increase swing speed through Swing Man Golf should be attractive to all of our players.”
Currently, Swing Man Golf has over 5,000 amateur clients who typically pick up 12-16 mph in 30 days, as well as a number of professionals. Former PGA TOUR winner David Gossett just began working with Bowden, joining existing clients such as three-time European Tour winner Pablo Martin, and Asian Tour standouts Grant Jackson and Martin Rominger.
“The best results come from an individually customized speed training program, however, you can still get results with a few basic things that travel well, including a radar for feedback, something for resistance on the club, and some bands for swing strengthening work,” said Bowden.
Bowden will be onsite at a handful of eGolf Tour events in the next year, and will be available to all eGolf Tour members who wish to discuss how Swing Man Golf can assist their golf games.
Players who wish to contact Jaacob Bowden in advance of next week's event may do so via email at [email protected], or through his website, www.swingmangolf.com.
