Charlotte, NC – February 16, 2010 – The eGolf Professional Tour announced today that they have been granted an unrestricted exemption by South Carolina Charities, Inc. for the Nationwide Tour's BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation, contested annually at three courses in Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina.

The exemption will be the third granted to the eGolf Tour by the BMW Charity Pro-Am in the last calendar year, with the first two exemptions earned by current Nationwide Tour player Scott Brown and two-time tour winner Kyle Dobbs. The exemption is the eighth Nationwide Tour spot awarded to the eGolf Tour in the last year. The tour previously announced a spot in the 2010 South Georgia Classic presented by First State Bank and Trust Company, as well as two spots in the 2010 Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper.

The exemption will be set up in the form of a tournament-within-a-tournament qualifier at the tour's Cowans Ford Open on May 5-8, 2010. Players will have the option to pay a "BMW Charity Pro-Am Fee" prior to the event in order to register. The participating player who finishes the highest in the tournament will be granted the exemption. Proceeds generated from the exemption will go to South Carolina Charities, Inc.

"As a tour based in the Carolinas, we are proud to continue this relationship with the BMW Charity Pro-Am," said eGolf Tour president David Siegel. "Since 1992, this has been one of the most lucrative and prestigious events on the Nationwide Tour."

In 2009, BMW Charity Pro-Am exemption winner Scott Brown earned $2,631 via a T44 finish in the event and in turn those earnings provided him a spot in the prestigious Nationwide Tour Players Cup – a field based strictly on the tour's money list. Brown finished T24 at that event and thus earned spots in two more Nationwide Tour events after the tour's reshuffle. The former USC-Aiken star would eventually finish T48 at the 2009 PGA TOUR Q-School to earn full status on the 2010 Nationwide Tour.

"If you look at Scott Brown's use of the exemption in 2009, it is easy to see how many doors can open after a good week on the Nationwide Tour," said Siegel. "One of our players could easily utilize this spot to immediately gain Nationwide Tour status in 2010."

The tournament will be contested at the Thornblade Club (Greer, SC), Bright's Creek Golf Club (Mill Spring, NC) and The Carolina Country Club (Spartanburg, SC) on May 13-16, with the final round being held at Thornblade on Sunday, May 16th. All four rounds will be televised by Golf Channel.
