Charlotte, NC– The eGolf Tour announced today that the second annual Sedgefield Classic, set to be contested on May 28-30, 2014 at venerable Sedgefield Country Club - Dye Course in Greensboro, NC, will feature a minimum guaranteed purse of $100,000. It will mark the third straight event in which the tour put forth the $100,000 minimum guarantee, dating back to the Columbia Open two weeks ago, and including next week's Willow Creek Open. When coupled with the tour’s inaugural Million Dollar Championship Series this fall, the guaranteed purse format of the three events will bring eGolf’s season-long guaranteed money to an industry-best $1.3 million dollars.

"We were pleased with the response to our first two guaranteed purses at Columbia and Willow Creek, and felt it was best to continue that formatting at Sedgefield," said eGolf Tour president David Siegel. "The Pete Dye course is one of the most demanding and immaculate venues we'll play all year, and is certain to draw one of the year's strongest fields."

The event will be the eighth of 15 regular season events on the tour’s 2014 schedule, which will give way this fall to the inaugural Million Dollar Championship Series – a series of four tournaments highlighted by $1,000,000 in overall prize money.

eGolf’s 2014 Million Dollar Championship Series will feature guaranteed purses of $225,000, $225,000, $250,000 and $300,000, with the winner of the fourth and final championship series event receiving a $50,000 first-place prize. The second of the four-event series, the Island View Casino Championship, will be contested in Gulfport, MS on September 9-12, 2014. The remaining three events will be announced in the coming weeks, with the $300,000 eGolf Tour Championship slated for December 2-5, 2014 in the Orlando, FL area.
