Charlotte, N.C. – January 25, 2011 – The eGolf Professional Tour announced today that it has reached an exclusive agreement with Swiftwick to become the official sock provider of the tour and title sponsor of the season-opening Swiftwick Shootout at Palmetto Hall.

Swiftwick, a Brentwood, TN-based sock and arm warmer company, is an industry innovator in sock manufacturing, having developed blister-free compression socks that are current sensations on the PGA TOUR, in the NFL, world-class running, cycling, hunting and endurance athletes. Their products have been featured in stories in The Nashville Examiner, The Tennessean, NFL.com, PGATOUR.com and Cycling News, to name a few.

The revolutionary engineering of the company’s socks allow for athletes and non-athletes alike to enjoy improved vascular performance and blood flow, which in turn results in less leg fatigue.

To kickoff the 2011 partnership, Swiftwick has been named as the tournament sponsor of the tour’s season-opening Swiftwick Shootout at Palmetto Hall, to be contested at Palmetto Hall Plantation in Hilton Head Island, SC on February 16-19. As part of the sponsorship, all competitors in the 216-player field will be awarded a pair of Swiftwick socks – an estimated retail value of $15 per pair.

In addition to the Palmetto Hall sponsorship and opening-event promotion, Swiftwick has formed the inaugural Swiftwick eGolf Champions Cup – a season-long trophy on the 2011 eGolf Professional Tour that will feature the name of each tournament champion honorably engraved on it.

“It’s a privilege to be associated with the eGolf Tour” said Mark Cleveland, President of Swiftwick. “Our mission is to introduce proven compression technology to the athlete focused on golf.  Better blood flow and comfort will show up in lower scores and Swiftwick can help eGolf Tour professionals achieve their potential on the course.”

In a short amount of time, Swiftwick has rapidly climbed the industry ranks by producing a product combining the best technological features of sock construction and fiber choices to produce everyday footwear that performs on a multitude of levels, especially the PGA TOUR. Ian Poulter, Brandt Snedeker, J.B. Holmes, Charley Hoffman, Ryan Moore, Kevin Streelman and Kenny Perry are a few of the TOUR players recently named by pgatour.com as Swiftwick supporters.

“When you look at the duration of a round of golf and the undulations in a course, there is arguably no mainstream sport more taxing on an athlete’s feet than golf,” said eGolf Tour president David Siegel. “We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Swiftwick and look forward to placing their product front and center for our players, as well as in the pro shops of our host courses.”

Throughout the entire eGolf Tour season, players and fans can purchase Swiftwick merchandise at the host club’s pro shop, as well as via weekly tournament discounts and specials through the tour’s website: www.egolfprofessionaltour.com.

The 2011 Swiftwick Shootout at Palmetto Hall will feature a full field of 216 players, an estimated purse of $250,000 and an estimated winner’s share of $35,000. The tournament will be contested on both the Robert Cupp and the Arthur Hills courses at Palmetto Hall Plantation.
